Mother’s Day

“All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” – Abraham Lincoln On May 14th of 1995, my mother celebrated her very first Mother’s Day. I’d like to think my father and I bought her flowers, a beautiful card, and took her out to a lovely Sunday brunch after church.


“I feel small, but so are stars from a distance.” I realized in the second grade that I didn’t quite worry about the same things all the other kids at school worried about. At just six-years-old, I was consumed, paralyzed even, in fear.
